Objectifs : Replace the missing lampshade of a lamp by the French designer Jean Royère. The lamp is called « tripod lamp », and dates from the 1950s

The concept for the repair is to take back the dimensions of the original object but reinterpret the lampshade using today’s techniques and materials. Tinted plexiglass cut with lasercut were used because it has very interesting optical qualities. It is very clear with a glossy appearance and has a very high level of transparency. These properties allow to reduce the brightness of the bulb while having still enough light. To lighten the lampshade even more, the shape of the elements were design in order to optimize them. The aim being to keep a simple and pure shape to stay as close as possible to the original object.
